History
We have years of experience creating one-of-a-kind memorials for families, from all walks of life. Each family comes to us because they know we are leaders in our profession, dedicated to excellence in service, and have the highest integrity.
Built in 1929 on the old bed of the Wabash & Erie Canal, Birkmeier Monument Company opened its doors at 2323 West Main Street in Fort Wayne to provide the very important service of memorialization to those in and around Allen County, Indiana.
We too have lost loved ones and know all too well that designing a memorial should be a consultation on beautiful, unique and affordable choices to best honor your loved one. We care about the families in our community and our pride in our work shows in each beautiful memorial we create.
With the largest indoor showroom in northern Indiana, families often compliment the variety of options on display that assist them in decision making. They also appreciate the fact that we are a one-stop solution, able to design, create and install the perfect memorial on their behalf.

Our Team
Brenda Zemaitis
Brenda is our business manager that has a long history of providing exceptional customer service in a variety of fields.
She is passionate about ensuring your memorial will be a perfect representation of yourself or your loved one and will represent the legacy of a life well lived.
Brenda also is an avid gardener and loves to cook, especially with the fruits of her labor. She spends her time outside of work with her two pups, Twinkie and Tuck, who wait not so patiently for something to drop while she is cooking.
Kathy Morton
Kathy Morton is our Memorial Specialist at one of the largest indoor showrooms in Indiana. She has years of experience in the monument industry along with certification at the Elberton Granite Training Institute. She attributes her success to her ability to listen to clients and put their needs first. She is passionate about developing and maintaining strong relationships centered on trust with each and every customer.
In her free time, she loves spending time with her family and also learning how to golf (it is a process). Her husband is her best teacher when it comes to the golf course, which requires a heck of a lot of patience. She also loves to travel and try new restaurants.
Zach Sheets
Zach is our sandblasting specialist who treats every memorial as if it were his own.
He works diligently perfecting his craft and uses his creativity to memorialize your loved one with new and fresh ideas.
In his free time, Zach spends time with his smart and spunky daughter, Alana, who also has his creative genes. He is also a dog dad to Romeo and Grace who keep him on his toes with their special needs.
