stunning MONUMENTS memorials

to honor and cherish

the memory of your loved ones

in a special way

Standing tall on a sturdy granite base, upright monument headstones come in various shapes and sizes, following the rules of the cemetery they reside in. Single headstones are usually taller than they are wide, while double headstones offer more space for two names. These tablets can be personalized to suit individual or companion use, with or without additional design elements. Explore our collection at Birkmeier Monument Company for custom upright monuments.

Slant monuments, or "slanted memorials" are simply short grave marker tablets with a slanted face, and like upright tablets must sit on a foundation, usually with a granite base.

A 2" flat area on the front of a slant monument is called "nosing", and can be polished or rock-pitched.

A bevel headstone is also referred to as a pillow because of its gently sloping design.

As its name implies, a bevel grave marker is a raised headstone that is flat on the bottom and cut on a gentle angle like a wedge. The back of the grave marker is slightly higher than the front.

Additional Memorial Options

Private Mausoleums

Throughout the ages, above-ground entombment has been reserved for only the wealthy. Now, Birkmeier & Sons Monument Company has removed the barriers, making mausoleums a burial option for everyone.

By purchasing your private mausoleum before the need arises, you reduce estate taxes, eliminate the need for other memorials and avoid costly vaults and expenses of underground burial.

All of these factors combine to make the cost of above-ground mausoleum entombment comparable to that of traditional burial.

Our most popular and affordable unit is preassembled and provides two private side-by-side companion spaces.

Columbarium

Just like the Ancient Romans, we too understand the significance of having a place to honor the memory of a life that once graced this world.

Although the shapes and designs of columbaria have evolved over the centuries, their purpose remains unaltered.

Today, the manufacturing of columbaria focuses on the art of architecture, advanced engineering, meticulous craftsmanship, and the use of durable granite exteriors.

These elements come together to create structures that exude elegance and permanence, destined to withstand the test of time. The columbarium is not just a mere resting place; it is a sanctuary of eternal remembrance.

Cremation Benches

Carved out of solid granite, a cremation bench stands as a poignant tribute to honor the memory of a cherished individual, just like a traditional headstone. However, instead of being positioned at the head of a burial site, it serves as a resting place for the ashes of one or more loved ones.

While cremation benches are commonly found in cremation gardens or various areas within cemeteries, certain families choose to have them on their private properties or in memorial parks.

Cremation Benches are a beautiful way to keep your loved one's ashes close by, allowing you to pay tribute to their memory. The ashes are carefully placed in the top bar of the bench, which is then securely sealed and welded shut to create a special compartment for the urn.

Cremation Pedestals

When it comes to honoring a loved one's memory, a cremation pedestal offers both strength and beauty. Crafted from granite, this block serves as a solid base for a decorative top, be it a statue or an urn.

These pedestals can be specially designed to accommodate urns within their core, providing a fitting tribute to those who have passed.

Cremation Pedestals are a type of columbarium for families that choose cremation. There are several styles of pedestals and very often families will choose a pedestal with a personalized ornament on top that represents the life lived. They can also memorialize more than one loved one.
